Historical Dominance Chart

Comparing capital flow across BTC, ETH, and Altcoins.

When BTC.D is Rising

Capital is flowing into Bitcoin. This usually happens in two scenarios:

  • Bullish: Bitcoin is pumping hard, and altcoins can't keep up.
  • Bearish: The entire market is dumping, but altcoins are bleeding faster as traders flee to the relative safety of Bitcoin.

When BTC.D is Falling

Capital is flowing out of Bitcoin into altcoins. This usually signals:

  • Altcoin Season: Bitcoin is consolidating sideways, and traders are rotating profits into smaller cap coins for higher returns.
  • Risk-On Environment: Extreme market confidence where smaller, riskier assets outperform BTC.
